Ingredients
  

For the Base:

  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

For the Caramel Layer:

  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup or light corn syrup

For the Chocolate Topping:

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions
 

Prepare the Base:

  • Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Stir until the mixture begins to bubble.
  • Remove from heat and mix in the Rice Krispies until fully coated.
  • Press the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the surface.

Make the Caramel Layer:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, butter, brown sugar, and golden syrup.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and turns golden brown (about 8–10 minutes).
  • Pour the caramel over the Rice Krispies base, spreading evenly.

Add the Chocolate Topping:

  • Melt chocolate chips and heavy cream together in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and smooth it out with a spatula.

Set and Serve:

  • Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  • Slice into squares or rectangles and serve chilled or at room temperature.
