- 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust
- 3 cups whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 4 large egg yolks
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate melted
- Food coloring pink, blue, yellow
- 1/2 cup candied pecans for garnish
- Whipped cream for serving
Prepare filling base:
Whisk milk, sugar, and cornstarch in a saucepan
Heat until bubbling and thickened
Temper egg yolks and add to mixture
Cook until very thick
Stir in vanilla extract
Create swirls:
Divide filling into 4 portions
Leave one vanilla
Add melted chocolate to one
Color remaining portions with food coloring
Layer into crust
Swirl with skewer
Set and serve:
Chill for 3 hours
