Ingredients

For the Lobster Tails:

  • 4 lobster tails fresh or thawed frozen
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika optional, for flavor and color
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparing the Lobster Tails:

  • Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven broiler to high. Using kitchen shears, cut the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise. Gently pull the meat upward to rest on the shell.
  • Season: Brush the meat with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of paprika if desired.

Making the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (1–2 minutes).
  • Add Cream: Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and allow the mixture to simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  • Enhance Flavor: Stir in Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3–5 minutes.

Cooking the Lobster Tails:

  • Broil: Place lobster tails on a baking sheet. Broil for 8–10 minutes or until the meat is opaque and cooked through. Baste with garlic butter sauce halfway through cooking for added flavor.
  • Finish: Remove from the oven, drizzle with the remaining garlic butter sauce, and garnish with extra parsley.

Notes

This recipe draws inspiration from American and Italian cuisine, blending the simplicity of Italian garlic butter sauces with the indulgence of American seafood staples.
